An X-Ray of participation in the policentric Forum 2006 - Caracas and Bamako Chapters This work contains the presentation and analysis of the data of a survey carried out during the World SocialForum (WSF) 2006 held for the first time in a polycentric form in Caracas (Venezuela) and in Bamaco (Mali). Knowing and identifying the participants profile was the main goal of the survey. At the same time, the intention is to build a collective, longitudinal and long-lasting memory. Read

World Social Forum 2003 During the WSF 2003, Ibase coordinated a systematization team who followed the conferences, panels, self-managed activities and dialogue and controversy round tables. In addition, Ibase was charged with the task of carrying out a survey on participants’ profile. This effort resulted in five publications entitled World Social Forum 2003 Series. Regional Integration in South America – Background and perspectives Regional integration processes in South America have advanced significantly, in the past 25 years, as an attempt to deal with the worsening of the economic and social situation which the continent had to face after the foreign debt crisis in 1982. Brazilian Youth and Democracy – participation, public spheres and policies The purpose of this survey, funded by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC, Canada), was to diagnose the potential participation of youth in public life. Between October 2004 and May 2005, 8,000 young people, aged 15-24, were interviewed in seven Brazilian metropolitan regions and in the Federal District. Read
